Ways to get involved at Hope UMC:
Meal-Site Ministry
Hope United Methodist Church is involved in two meal site ministries in the community several times during the course of the year.
We take turns at the Hope Moravian Church located at 202 N. Main Street in Hope. The Moravians started this ministry on Monday nights at 5 pm. Anyone can come to this for a free meal. Several organizations in Hope have followed the lead of the Moravians by joining in and taking a Monday where they come into the church, prepare and serve the meal to any visitor.
When we at the Hope UMC participate in this ministry we prepare (Breakfast Supper). Egg casserole, hash browns, bananas and homemade cinnamon rolls.
We also do the same for the Columbus branch of the Salvation Army located 2525 Illinois St in Columbus Indiana. To feed the homeless people in Columbus. Our next time will be November 7th. We will meet at the church at 3 pm and leave the church to go to the Salvation Army around 3:30 to arrive at 4 pm to prepare to start serving at 5- 6.
Exercise Ministry
The Exercise Group are several individuals here in Hope, Columbus and the surrounding area that are very mature adults. We gather on Tuesdays and Fridays at 1:30 pm at Hope UMC for low impact exercise that we do, some from a chair. Anyone is welcome to join us upstairs in the church at the Wesley Center until 2:30 pm.
A free-will donation is collected for charity, but not required.
Several Physical Therapists do recommend this type of exercise/stretching for those who are mature individuals or recovering from surgery. This also allows you the opportunity to fellowship with other mature adults. We currently have 12 people involved in this group, mostly retirees.
3rd Sunday Movie Nights
Every third Sunday, Hope UMC hosts a movie night! We hope you will join us for this fun time of fellowship!
Popcorn provided!
Wednesday Night Bible Study
Join us for our Bible Study Sessions every Wednesday evening at 6:00pm.
We will navigate the lessons and stories together as we journey through God’s Word.
All are welcome!
